Apropos of nothing exactly, and everything indirectly,, yesterday I read an obituary of Yeshayahu Gavish in the London Daily Telegraph, highlighting his role as commander of the South during the Six Day war when he disobeyed Moshe Dayan’s explicit orders NOT to enter into Gaza. A classic case of military capacity exceeding strategic wisdom.
