I, as I suspect millions of others around the world stand with Israel. Whilst governments may play politics and not support you for whatever reason be assured you are not alone. I am Christian and my heart is heavy for Israel, you don't need to be Jewish to know that what happened on Oct 7 23 was a horrible tragic act of barbarism and if I was younger and of good health I would be there with you to help bring those responsible to justice. May God bless you.
Marc, you asserted that 'While conditions in Gaza at the moment are undoubtedly dire for Gazans, the narrative of widespread starvation, does not align with any of the evidence available.'I would be grateful if you could share that evidence because the narrative that the Palestinians in Gaza are starving or on the brink of starvation and that the Israelis are frustrating efforts to deliver aid is being repeated by western governments, aid agencies and the media (including the British Foreign Secretary today). Thank you
Are you surprised that Palestinians "despise us"? Really? Need I remind you that from their perspective as confirmed by the historical record, our massive presence in Palestine came on the coattails of British conquest. We had a deal with the British:: you conquer, we colonize. Palestinians were under British boots for 30 years and Jewish boots for 76 years. And yet you chose to ignore that. How self serving.
I am not at all surprised I have stated that many times. If I was a Palestinian I would hate us too. However, the fact remains so much of the suffering of the Palestinians could have been avoided if once in their history they had been willing to compromise. Their unwillingness including Hamas today is why this war goes on. I won't bother to go back over the many times Peel Commission etc. But even when Hamas took power if they accepted the Quartets terms, renounced violence and accepted the agreement the PA signed they would have been recognized and there wouldhave been no semi blockade on Gaza
Yes, wouldn't it be nice if the Palestinians conformed to our desires. Why should they? Their time horizon is very very long and therir ability to suffer is very very great. It ain't over 'til it's over as it is said. One day perhaps the wheel will turn. One day perhaps the US will no longer be the great superpower...to resupply the ammo and provide diplomatic cover. And, year after year of constant terrorist pressure, constant Israeli secret police raids, constant "elimination" of Palestinians...it takes a toll, emotionally, physically, financially - on Israel. Perhaps in 10, 20, 50 years Israel will no longer rank #5 in the happiness parade. Who knows, perhaps that is behind the Palestinian strategy. Israel wants its cake and eat it too, right? We want "peace" and, we want israel from the river to the sea. We want a Jewish state without 5 million stateless Palestinians. We humiliate them and terrorize them then we are surprised that they hate us....
