Good summary - but I think you should have included a reference to the Olmert Plan, which was the last definitive peace offer to the Palestinians, which Abbas simply refused to consider, despite Olmert begging him.
The Olmert plan was undeniably fair and creative and would have left the West Bank with 99.5% of the pre six-day war area, with various border adjustments to include some of the settlements, while the rest would have been removed.
I'm not a fan of Friedman, though not a foe either. No writer has solved any of the hard problems we're all confronted with so I guess I look to others for some type of analyst, and wisdom to attempt solutions.
But I wouldn't stop reading your Diary because we might disagree over what a journalist wrote - and you were clear that you don't agree with TF in this instance, and you explain (rightfully I believe) that you don't think he understands what Israel is going through. IOW he's not read the room (or the general edifice surrounding the room).
I may disagree with your personal assessment of Biden and his admin, but that doesn't matter, does it? You're presenting facts on the ground and any opinions will be proven wise or mistaken. Time will tell, as they say.

Marc, many if not most Do not think of Thomas Friedman as sympathetic to Israel. I am not surprised that your readers do not agree with your opinion.
Also, please explain why half of academia believe that Israel is a colonizer. I do not understand the reasoning.
