Among the reasons that I've been closely following this conflict is that I'm deeply concerned about the future of both Israel and the US...and indeed Western culture as a whole.

The video is of somebody demonstrating in the middle of a war for survival--with Israel's international support ranging from tepid/inconstant to outright opposition. He seeks to gain control of the head of a police officer's horse (through grabbing the reins or bridal--it's hard to tell). The officer gives him a flip of one of the reigns, and our protester grabs his head with both hands and falls down: and it's simply not possible that was from a minor slap of one reign--even if it had been the strongest possible flick. A concerned onlooker rushes in...to give aid in this tragic situation? Certainly not! To take a video!

This illustrates the "severity of the police’s violence": and elsewhere, I've seen this portrayed as almost the defining horror of our age.😉

All great nations fall: and so the US will fall--it's not a matter of if, but when. And Toynbe says that happens from suicide, not murder. That's just the sort of thing you would increasingly see in the US: we are rejecting the claims of reality. Israel used to be made of sterner stuff, did it not?

Priorities. Perspective.
